THC Vapes - Pods, Cartridges, and Disposables

Do you enjoy smoking cannabis but would prefer to skip the preparation process, smell, and actual smoke from consuming flower?

If so, vaporizers could be for you — but you likely have some more questions. What types of vapes are available here in dispensaries in Massachusetts? How can you choose the right one for your needs? Luckily, we’re here to simplify the search for your perfect vape.

What are Cannabis Vaporizers?

Vaporizers, more commonly referred to as vapes or pens, work by heating concentrated cannabis oil to a sufficient temperature to release the cannabinoids and terpenes in a fine vapor without any additives or extra plant matter. This direct and potent method allows you to quickly feel the effects that can last upwards of two to three hours.

As a relatively new technology with evolving options, vaping was quickly adopted into the cannabis industry years ago and, since then, has unsurprisingly become an industry favorite. If you’ve been searching for the perfect opportunity to tap into this form of cannabis consumption, consider this a sign and keep reading to learn more about the different options available at The Pass.

Why Use Vapes?

Vaporizers are a modern, “mechanized” approach to smoking cannabis. Not only are they incredibly convenient and discreet, but they’re nearly odorless and perfectly sized to fit in your pocket, purse, or the palm of your hand.

No rolling papers or rigs required. Messy ash avoided. Need we say more?

Types of Vaporizer Devices Available

On our menu at The Pass, you’ll see a range of vaporizers including pods, disposables, and THC vape cartridges.

  • Pods. An incredibly easy-to-use vaporizer containing THC and/or CBD oil with a mouthpiece that easily attaches to a draw-activated battery, meaning there is no need to turn the battery on/off. Simply inhale and enjoy the benefits.
  • Disposables. Don’t own a vape pen? No problem. Purchased with a battery and cartridge attached, disposables are already charged and ready to rip. However, keep in mind that they’re not meant to be reused, refilled, or recharged.
  • Cartridges. These are pre-filled with cannabis oil and connected to a separately purchased battery that can either be draw-activated or powered by a button.

Solventless vs. Solvent Vapes

As we discuss on our Concentrates page, solvent-based extraction uses a solvent such as alcohol, butane, or CO2 to separate trichomes from the plant matter. On the other hand, solventless concentrates such as bubble hash and live rosin are made using mechanical extraction methods, including ice-water extraction, dry-sifting, and pressing.

The starting material for vapes can be solventless or solvent-based cannabis oil. You can identify the vapes made with solvents on our menu as they will say distillate, CO2, or live resin in the title. Solventless vapes will have hash rosin or live hash rosin in the product title.

How to Choose Your Cannabis Vaporizer

If you’re lost amongst our full list of pods, disposables, and cartridges or don’t know whether or not to go the solventless route, our budtenders are here to help. As the first step on your quest to find the perfect vaporizer, we suggest determining your ideal dosage and concentration.

At The Pass, we have 0.5g and/or 1g cartridges, pods, and disposables available for purchase. Each vaporizer contains high THC concentrations ranging from 60% to 80%+ — some options even include a low concentration of CBD to balance the psychoactive effects. Since vaporizers are potent, we suggest consuming in 2-3 second puffs for a more controlled dosage. Then, wait a couple of minutes to gauge your status. We always suggest going low and slow when you’re getting started.

Once you’ve determined your ideal dosage and concentration, you can then pick out of the available options based on the flavor you like or the effect you’re going for.
